Bauhaus & Anni Albers inspired garment
I recently completed my Anni Albers & Bauhaus themed project in the Fashion & Textiles element of my coursework.
My garment was based on a piece by Anni Albers entitled 'Two'. Which I think mainly incorporated the theme of roads and map. The piece mainly inspired me of Pompeii, which has the same style of map.
I wanted to create a piece which was simple but would still show the chosen elements from my Anni Albers piece.
I bought a simple pattern, that would work with my theme well together.
I dyed the skirt with shibori dying technique, which I think is very effective. And is one of my favourite things about the garment. I created panels onto the seams to show the difference in the pattern.
I finally created a chicken necklace, which isn't in the photo though.
