New magazine cover opinions

Dua Lipa Vogue cover 2019

I think that the red and white contrast each other, which I think would work well on a stand, as red tones don’t tend to be used in magazine covers I have found from my research. The red and black writing stand out and is easily visible behind the big overpowering garment. I think the background is quite plain and boring, it lacks any boldness which I have seen from other covers. Also i find that the dress hides who the cover is. I find that the makeup is quite plain and I think it does clash with the red font text, which I don’t like. Furthermore I find that the main text could be larger to make it more visible to the readers, as it’s not clear  far away.

Glamour Amber Heard cover

I really like the retro vibe which I think really stands out, as you don’t normally see that type of cover. I really like the unusual font which works so well with the retro theme. Although I do think that the retro car is quite hidden in the background. I do find that the face stands out and is more visible than the Vogue cover, because of it being more central in the cover. I also like how the font goes behind the face, which is really interesting to look at, and does stand out more than the cover person.
Overall I prefer this cover to the Dua Lipa Vogue cover shoot.

Emma Stone Vogue cover

I love all of the colours in this cover, it stands out so much. With the bold blue background with the rich red font, which compliments the garment which includes these blue and red tones. I love the garment which has been used in this cover it looks great and works so well for a Vogue cover. However I do think that the right bottom side font is very hidden and is quite  hard to read. Also the left side writing is all quite close together and kind of covers the boldness of the Vogue title, which is the most important. My favourite thing about this cover is the blue background which you don’t see very often.

Lily James Marie Claire cover

I like the light blue background with the white font which I think works very well together. Also I like the pink font, which I have found to be quite a common colour used on recent magazines, I think this works well for summer covers. However I do find that the garment is quite overpowering and kind of taking over the whole garment which I found as an issue also with the Dua Lipa cover. This cover also has hardly any font which is quite different to the other covers which have a lot more information which I am not sure of I am fan of overall.

My favourite cover is the Emma Stone Vogue, cover as I love the bright, bold and vivid colours which have been used.
