Tate Modern
Yesterday I went to the Tate Modern with college. We visited the Anni Albers exhibition. This was the first time I had heard of Anni Albers.
She was among the leading innovators of twentieth-century modernist abstraction. Committed to uniting the ancient craft of weaving with language of modern art. She transformed the way weaving could be understood as a medium for art, design and architecture. She was introduced to hand - weaving at the bauhaus, a radical art school in Weimar, Germany. Founded by Walter Gropius, who wanted to create a school that brought together sculpture, painting, and art and crafts. Which I have studied in Art History class.
Overall the exhibition examines her engagement of artists and designers.
Information from Tate Modern
I overall really enjoyed visiting the Tate and would love to visit other exhibitions in the near future.
