Sewing themed repeat pattern

Also from my last sketchbook of my coursework I created a sewing themed basic realest pattern which I have shown on digital formats before on previous blog posts, but thought at I would share what it actually looked like in hand form.
Firstly I printed off a series of pictures off the internet of a silhouetted sewing machine, needle and bobbin (I drew the thread silhouette). Then I traced over the images and traced them on to A3 paper where I had beforehand measured out where everything needed to go. Finally I filled them in with different coloured paint I used acrylic and fine liner.
Overall I love the way this turned out a I think it is very good and effective, and worked well on a digital format as well.

Late Christmas project

Happy new year! Sorry but I forgot to post a project that I had been working on before Christmas and the new year. So thought I'd post it now, better late than never. This Christmas jumper/top has been created using a black long sleeve top, different festive themed fabric cotton fat quarters. Finally with a variety of different ribbons and threads to finish the garment off. I think it looks really neat and has been quite successful, leave your feedback down in the comments :)

Paper garment inspired by Susan Cutts

I wanted to experiment using the techniques which Susan Cutts uses in her work. I decided to create my own paper garment like what she does in sculpture form I used a fabric base in calico fir the bodice, then papa mashed with thin strips of paper over the top. Then created a ruffle neckline and bottom using kitchen roll flowers stuck on by duct tape. For the skirt I used duct tape and newspaper which created a tutu like skirt. Finishing with the same paper roses over the top to cover the waistband.
