Patterns with photoshop

In college we have been exploring repeat patterns and how to create them by hand and now online. I used photoshop which I had never used properly before so it was quite new for me.
We were exploring how to make our handmade repeat patterns repeat into a sort of commercial way.
I found that the advantages of using this method was that it was quicker to create the repeat pattern that by hand. I found that the limitations were that it was hard to make the repeat pattern accurate. Overall I would recommend the programme.

Late Christmas project

Happy new year! Sorry but I forgot to post a project that I had been working on before Christmas and the new year. So thought I'd post it now, better late than never. This Christmas jumper/top has been created using a black long sleeve top, different festive themed fabric cotton fat quarters. Finally with a variety of different ribbons and threads to finish the garment off. I think it looks really neat and has been quite successful, leave your feedback down in the comments :)

Paper garment inspired by Susan Cutts

I wanted to experiment using the techniques which Susan Cutts uses in her work. I decided to create my own paper garment like what she does in sculpture form I used a fabric base in calico fir the bodice, then papa mashed with thin strips of paper over the top. Then created a ruffle neckline and bottom using kitchen roll flowers stuck on by duct tape. For the skirt I used duct tape and newspaper which created a tutu like skirt. Finishing with the same paper roses over the top to cover the waistband.
