Mini fabric haul!









Recently I have purchased new fabrics for this season and for future sewing projects and I thought I would share it with you on my blog. All the fabrics are 100% cotton.
Firstly I bought a 6 pack fat quarter Christmas themed set because I would like to make Christmas themed bunting or fabric ornaments but will be sure to post my creations on my blog. Also I bought a 3 pack of Christmas coloured ribbon as well. 
I bought another 6 pack fat quarter set which I think will be great for any small projects in the Spring/Summertime as the prints are very bright and colourful. Also I bought 2 meters of a blue and white star fabric which I’m not sure what I will make yet but will post when I do. To finish off my mini haul I bought green ribbon for my Halloween costume which i posted on my blog a few days ago.

Late Christmas project

Happy new year! Sorry but I forgot to post a project that I had been working on before Christmas and the new year. So thought I'd post it now, better late than never. This Christmas jumper/top has been created using a black long sleeve top, different festive themed fabric cotton fat quarters. Finally with a variety of different ribbons and threads to finish the garment off. I think it looks really neat and has been quite successful, leave your feedback down in the comments :)

Paper garment inspired by Susan Cutts

I wanted to experiment using the techniques which Susan Cutts uses in her work. I decided to create my own paper garment like what she does in sculpture form I used a fabric base in calico fir the bodice, then papa mashed with thin strips of paper over the top. Then created a ruffle neckline and bottom using kitchen roll flowers stuck on by duct tape. For the skirt I used duct tape and newspaper which created a tutu like skirt. Finishing with the same paper roses over the top to cover the waistband.
