Halloween!




This year for Halloween my friends and I decided to go as the Powerpuff Girls. We decided to DIY our costumes which I had never done before.
Firstly we bought over sized tshirts to be worn as dresses. We used black bias binding around the waists with a bow at the back to create a different sort of look. Also we bought over the knee socks and got ribbon of the colours of the Powerpuff Girls and tacked them onto the elasticacted top. Then we used the left over ribbon and put matching bows in our hair. To finish off the look we wore white trainers and used matching eyeshadow of the correct colours.
Overall I’m really pleased with how the look came out on the night.

Happy new year! Sorry but I forgot to post a project that I had been working on before Christmas and the new year. So thought I'd post it now, better late than never. This Christmas jumper/top has been created using a black long sleeve top, different festive themed fabric cotton fat quarters. Finally with a variety of different ribbons and threads to finish the garment off. I think it looks really neat and has been quite successful, leave your feedback down in the comments :)

Paper garment inspired by Susan Cutts

I wanted to experiment using the techniques which Susan Cutts uses in her work. I decided to create my own paper garment like what she does in sculpture form I used a fabric base in calico fir the bodice, then papa mashed with thin strips of paper over the top. Then created a ruffle neckline and bottom using kitchen roll flowers stuck on by duct tape. For the skirt I used duct tape and newspaper which created a tutu like skirt. Finishing with the same paper roses over the top to cover the waistband.
